Albany Law School

Albany Law School accepts and participates in the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Programs. Our Pro Bono Program supports Veterans’ Rights Summer Fellowships. We are hosting a Veterans human rights conference which involves the NYS Division of Veteran Affairs and the NYS Division of Human Rights. Our Community Development Clinic Students and supervising attorneys provide entrepreneurs with start-up legal services.

Excelsior College offers Associates, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business, Health Science. Technology, Liberal Arts, Public Service, and Nursing. Our degrees have flexible transfer policies and accepts credits from your military service, workforce training as well as prior college. Veterans can bypass the application process and directly enroll into non-nursing and graduate degrees to get started sooner.

RPI: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

RPI is a Yellow Ribbon School accepting the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship as well as any post 9/11 GI Bill benefit. If you have completed Navy Nuclear Power Training school you are eligible for 31 credits and should apply as a transfer student. There is a student Veterans association on campus.

Empire State College

Dedicated staff for Veteran, Active, Guard, Reserve and their families providing pre-enrollment advising, assistance with benefits, application, financial aid, student services, and academics. We offer a lower tuition and waived fees for Veterans. Active, Guard, Reserve and spouses of Active Duty. We also have a process for getting life experience, work experience and certifications that is completely free for our Veterans, Active, Guard and Reserves.

Community Colleges

Adirondack Community College

SUNY Adirondack offers a number of resources specifically geared towards service members and Veterans. Some of these resources include the Randles Veterans Resource Center, an Adult Learner Coordinator focused on serving and recruiting Veterans, and a NYS VA Benefits Advisor located on campus. In addition, SUNY Adirondack waives the application fee for Veterans applying to the college and offers college credit for both military experience and DSST exams.

Hudson Valley Community College

Hudson Valley Community College offers a wide range of services and supports for its student Veterans, including a dedicated enrollment services contact that can assist with VA education benefit certification, an Armed Services Study Room in the Marvin Library, VA funded peer liasons to assist with the transition to college and several scholarships to provide additional financial assistance for our student Veterans.
